I’ve been working with Todd Day Wait on a number of different projects associated with his brand, for the last 5 years. Todd and his band, Pigpen, had the chance to record an EP and a follow up LP with producer Mark Neill (Black Keys – Brothers). I was fortunate enough to be asked to design both. Even though the tracks were never cut to vinyl, the band wanted the CD to look like a mini record. Complete with 45 label on the disc, and a record jacket sleeve. I created some icons and logos for the packaging, that the band used on various media throughout the promotion of the albums and beyond. I worked closely with the band to get a feel for the things that were important to them; their instruments, their busker style, their single-mic recording process, and a thick dose of nostalgia.
